Romania Care

Bringing love and care from here to there

Foodfund

Those of you who have walked with us for any length of time will know that winters in Romania are very harsh and there are many poor people who struggle to survive.

In recent years we have run Christmas food parcel programmes to provide food for poor families; before that we ran shoe box programmes.

This year we would like to establish an ongoing fund which Irina (our officer in Romania) can use at her discretion to help people who are struggling with food or heating.

We believe this will mean your support can be focused on the very poorest people, and being cheaper to administer, even more of your support will reach the most vulnerable.

Could you help us to establish this fund - gifts can be made online or by cheque to the office.  Thank you!

Past Years

Romania Care took or provided parcels for poor families in Romania and Moldova at Christmas.

Prior to 2003, we took shoe boxes assembled by people in the UK and transported to Suceava for distribution prior to Christmas.

In 2003 we changed to providing food parcels.

Although not as much fun to assemble at home in the UK, the change was prompted by a concern about the contents of some shoe boxes, and a belief that a food parcel has greater impact on a whole family in Romania who might otherwise go hungry!

Our food parcel campaign is launched each September ... please visit again later in the year for details of this years campaign.
