A Little bit of History
A visit by Laurence Biggs and Peter Halden to Romania in October 1990 inspired and challenged them to set up a charity to facilitate further work in Romania. The charity, called Mid Herts Churches Romania Relief, was registered in the UK in June 1991 (charity number 1012759). The Charity was renamed Romania Care in December 2000 to more accurately describe its increasing work and support base.
Mission Statement
Romania Care, a Christian led charity, providing practical help and financial support for charitable, educational and medical projects - helping Romanians to alleviate poverty and develop their charitable sector.
Value Statement
Each person is special, accepted and loved by God. We value and work with all equally, regardless of age, race, sex or religion.
The
way we work
In Romania the charity works closely with its partner Bethesda (a charitable association) and Bethesda's leaders Dr. Stefan and Mrs Gaby Puscasu. This organisation assists us with identification, implementation and day to day running of projects. It also has close links with Romania Committee T.E.V. in Holland.
The Charity is administered by volunteers and overseen by 4 trustees, all of whom are also committed Christians. It has no employed staff in the UK.
